SEO Techniques That You Cannot Live Without in 2015

By. Waqar Hassan

You would think that with a title proclaiming  you “Cannot Live Without” you would actually get something juicy! Unfortunately, all we get here is a rehash of the same ole’ stuff we industry professionals have heard time and time again. The article goes over link building, long-tail keywords, mobile friendly website design, and what it calls the “technical side” of SEO. Each section gets 1-3 paragraphs that gives little detail on implementation and forget about finding any creative new spins to long-term tactics.

Why You Should Never “Do Keyword Research” Again

By. Nate Dame

This was probably the best article I’ve read on keyword research in a LONG TIME! Talking about keywords seems to be the craze in the industry at the moment, but Nate does a great job in clearly explaining the different mentality/philosophy needed when approaching keyword research in today’s market. Straight and to the point Nate shoves his finger into the industry’s sore spot by bluntly saying “the problem with traditional keyword research is that it is still rooted in PPC.” Folks, the times have shifted and we need to start researching keywords from the point of view of the searcher’s intent, not from the number of searches. If that confuses you then you NEED to read this article. In fact, you should read it even if your researching philosophy aligns with this way of thinking already, because it just so concisely explains the right way of doing it these days. Bravo!

How to Align your Entire Company with your Marketing Strategy

By: Mackenzie Fogeleson

OK you got me … this isn’t a straight SEO article, but I thought it was worth sharing with everyone! I recently read a book called “The One Thing” by Gary Keller and it completely, and totally changed the way I approach my work day … and the results have been amazing.  In short The One Thing is about finding the one thing, the single one task that you need to do such that by doing it all other things involving that task will be made significantly easier or completely unnecessary. The reason why I’m talking about “The One Thing” is because Mackenzie’s tool called the “Focus Canvas” can help communicate a company’s “one thing” to each and every employee, and help the company as a whole stay on track to completing their purpose. In short, the Focus Canvas allows you to identify and communicate to everyone in the company what the bigger picture is, and helps every employee in the company focus their work on achieving the bigger picture or “meaning beyond money.”

– Good tool for communicating business focus

– Excellent walk through

– Downloadable Focus Canvas not editable
